JD Wetterling is an ordained elder and deacon in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) and Resident Manager of Ridge Haven Conference and Retreat Center in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. He is the author of Son of Thunder, a novel based on his experiences as a fighter pilot in Vietnam, and numerous op-ed columns and essays in America's largest periodicals.
